Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Data Collection & User Privacy

Medfolium is committed to safeguarding the digital privacy of our clinical contributors, peer reviewers, and academic readers. We collect personal information—such as names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses—exclusively for the purposes of manuscript processing, editorial communication, and digital indexing.

The metadata collected through our digital submission portal is utilized strictly to mint Crossref Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and satisfy the archiving requirements of global medical indexers. Medfolium explicitly guarantees that author data, email lists, and user profiles will never be sold, rented, or distributed to third-party commercial entities or pharmaceutical advertisers.

Peer Review Confidentiality

The integrity of the double-blind peer review process relies on absolute systemic confidentiality. Any manuscript uploaded to the Medfolium portal is treated as a highly privileged, confidential document.

  • Reviewer Anonymity: The identities of our peer reviewers and Section Editors are strictly protected and will not be disclosed to the submitting authors or external institutions.
  • Data Protection: Reviewers are legally bound to destroy or delete manuscript files after submitting their editorial evaluation. Unpublished research data may not be used for personal or institutional advantage under any circumstances.

Patient Anonymity & Clinical Data

While Medfolium hosts clinical data, the legal responsibility for patient privacy rests entirely with the submitting author. To comply with international healthcare privacy standards (such as HIPAA guidelines and regional medical council mandates), authors must ensure complete patient de-identification.

No manuscript will be published that contains identifiable patient details, including full names, exact dates of birth, or recognizable anatomical photographs, unless explicit, written consent from the patient (or legal guardian) is securely maintained by the author’s institution and declared in the manuscript methodology.

To foster a borderless scientific dialogue, Medfolium operates as an Open Access publisher. We do not place clinical research behind financial paywalls.

  • Author Rights: Authors submitting to the Academic Track retain the primary copyright to their original research.
  • Creative Commons License: By publishing with Medfolium, authors grant the platform the right of first publication. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and Medfolium are properly cited.
